Students sitting upper secondary exams up almost 7 percent
The number of Grade 7 students sitting upper secondary level exams throughout the country increased from 62,254 last year to 66,586 this year, according to official reports. Meanwhile, the number of exam centres and exam rooms also increased from 281 and 2,997 respectively last year to 285 and 3,210 this year. In the capital, more than 10,600 students from 91 state and private schools are sitting their upper secondary school exams at 22 exam centres in 530 exam rooms, according to the Vientiane Education and Sports Department.
