New guidelines in Laos to strengthen human trafficking response
VIENTIANE (Vientiane Times/ANN) – Members of the Lao Women’s Union yesterday met with ministerial officials in Vientiane to discuss the drafting of new policy guidelines on family violence, child protection and human trafficking.
The meeting was chaired by the Director of the Lao Women’s Union Counselling and Protection Centre for Women and Children, Mrs Thommaly Vongphachanh and was attended by 40 representatives from the Ministry of Justice, Ministry of Labour and Social Welfare, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of National Defence and the Ministry of Public Security, as well as other officials.
