Laos Elephant conservation centre wins Asean tourism award

VIENTIANE (Vientiane Times/ANN) – The Elephant Conservation Centre in Xayaboury province nailed Laos’ slot in the 2019 Experience Mekong Collection Showcase at January’s Asean Tourism Forum in Halong Bay, Vietnam, by taking top honours in the “Do” category.

The centre captured the “Do” class for Laos by offering learning experiences with elephants led by a dedicated team of guides, mahouts and elephant veterinarians, according to a report from the centre.
