Lao & Thai specialists join forces to treat bile duct cancer

VIENTIANE (Vientiane Times/ANN) – Mahosot Hospital is partnering with experts from Asean countries including Thailand to improve treatment for patients with bile duct cancer (cholangiocarcinoma).

In 2017, a project to suppress, identify and treat bile duct cancer in Laos was initiated through a partnership research project between the Lao Tropical and Public Health Institute, Laos’ Ministry of Health, the Cholangiocarcinoma Research Institute at Khon Kaen University in Thailand, and the Swiss Tropical and Public Health Institute in Switzerland.
