Lao: Champassak city announces auction of confiscated timber

VIENTIANE (Vientiane Times/ANN) – The seized timber auction committee of Champassak city has invited furniture associations, timber processing factories, furniture factories and timber businesses across the country to an auction of confiscated timber.

The government seized the wood up for sale after it was illicitly cut and is now state property.

The 528,852 cubic metres of timber includes 5,179 logs, stacks and boards, the city’s Department of Industry and Commerce announced on Tuesday.
