New law to provide proper settlement, jobs for displaced villagers
A new law passed by the National Assembly (NA) on Friday will ensure the provision of new homes and permanent jobs for displaced villagers as well as those living in hardship areas, parliament members were told. Presenting the draft Law on Stability of Settlement and Livelihood to the 5th Ordinary Session of the NA’s 8th Legislature, Minister of Agriculture and Forestry Dr Lien Thikeo said it was necessary to enact such a law so there was a legal framework for the implementation of policies in this regard.
