Ministry offers scholarships to students orphaned in Attapeu flood
The Ministry of Education and Sports has offered an unlimited number scholarships for students whose parents died when a catastrophic flood raged through Sanamxay district in Attapeu province last summer
The scholarships will be offered to impoverished students under the ministry’s policy concerning flood victims.
The President of Champassak University, Dr Bounmy Phonesavanh, told Vientiane Times about plans to help flood victims by providing scholarships.
Under the policy, those eligible must have completed upper secondary school and received a final grade of at least 6.5. No further exam will be required.
