Local Lao firm to develop solar energy project

VIENTIANE (Vientiane Times/ANN) – Lao Development Group Co Ltd will start a study on the investment and development opportunities of renewable energy solar power plants in provinces next month, following an agreement with the state sector.

The company signed a technical cooperation agreement with the Institution of Renewable Energy Promotion and the Ministry of Energy and Mines in Vientiane last week. It was signed by the company President Dr Vilaysanh Phommyxay and the Institute representative Mr Chanto Milattanapheng

Dr Vilaysanh said the company will start the study in April, after the Lao New Year, and that it will take about 24 months to complete.
