Laos, China mark completion of one of railway’s longest tunnels
Luang Namtha province: Lao and Chinese authorities yesterday marked completion of boring and construction of the Boten tunnel – the first completed among the 10 longest tunnels for the Laos-China railway project.
The 6,453.5 metre-long tunnel is among 10 for the project whose length exceeds 5,000 metres each.
Beginning in March 2017, boring and construction of the Boten tunnel in northern Luang Namtha province was completed seven months ahead of the planned schedule.
