Ignorance of the labour law denying workers their rights in Laos
VIENTIANE (Vientiane Times/ANN) – A lack of understanding of the Law on Labour by most members of the workforce, especially in rural areas, puts employees at a disadvantage when dealing with employers, according to a leading official.
Minister of Labour and Social Welfare, Dr Khampheng Saysompheng, told the annual national labour meeting yesterday that access to information about the content of the labour law was limited, particularly in rural areas.
