Govt eyes provision of more workers for Kuwait
The message was delivered by Minister of Labour and Social Welfare, Dr Khampheng Saysompheng, during a visit on Tuesday by Kuwait Minister of Social Affairs and Labour and Minister of State for Economic Affairs, Mrs Hind Subaih Barrak Al-Subaih.
During the official visit, the main focus of discussions was reviewing past cooperation and enhancing future collaborative efforts between the two sides in the labour sector.
A labour cooperation agreement was signed in 2009 on enhancing cooperation in manpower recruitment, aiming to send Lao workers to work in Kuwait. Under the agreement, Kuwait would receive about 1,000 Lao workers per year to be employed in all sectors of the country.
