Storm demolishes 30 houses in Huaphan
Some 30 houses in Xiengkhor district, Huaphan province, were damaged by a storm that lashed the area last week, bringing thunder, rain, hail and strong winds.
District Governor Mr Phanta Thonvongsa told Vientiane Times on Monday “The storm passed through nine villages in the district on February 19. Thirty houses and two schools in Nakhang and Mongnam villages suffered severe damage. Roofs were torn off and other structures were blown to the ground.”
Fortunately, there were no reports of injury.
