Stable growth predicted for agriculture sector in Laos
VIENTIANE (Vientiane Times/ANN) – The agriculture sector is expected to expand by up to 3 percent this year, if Laos does not encounter any serious natural disaster like last year.
According to the Asian Development Outlook (ADO) 2019 forecast, the agriculture sector is expected to expand by 2.5 percent.
The sector has grown slowly, falling from a growth rate of 2.9 percent in 2017 to 2.5 percent in 2018, concludes a report from the Centre for Macro-Economic Policy Research and Economic Restructuring under the National Institute for Economic Research.
