Lao Villagers wait in vain for roads to be surfaced
KHAMMUAN, Laos (Vientiane Times/ANN) – When elderly people in Thakhaek and Nabong villages get together with their friends, they’re likely to debate when and if the dirt roads that run in front of their homes will be asphalted.
They stand outside their houses, looking at the clouds of dust raised by passing vehicles and ask if workers will soon come to pave the road that connects their villages to the Tong Kieu Bridge.
