Environmental concerns prompt govt to caution Naxaithong banana grower

VIENTIANE (Vientiane Times/ANN) – The government has advised an investor preparing land for a banana plantation in Nanard village, Naxaithong district, Vientiane to grow other crops due to concerns about environmental impacts.

The area is not suitable for banana cultivation as it is near natural water resources, according to the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry.
