Enough pork for local consumption despite African swine fever outbreak in Laos
VIENTIANE (Vientiane Times/ANN) – Laos has enough pigs to supply market demand despite an outbreak of African swine fever that is continuing to affect the country.
The outbreak has affected 103 villages in 42 districts of 15 provinces, according to the Department of Livestock and Fisheries under the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry.
The areas affected by the outbreak had a total of 25,568 pigs, of which 10,903 died due to the disease and 3,306 were culled.
